Sheffield Sustainable Kitchens

Contemporary Oak

Our clients were embarking on a kitchen extension and were keen to have a solid statement kitchen, with simple, clean design.

The dark painted cabinet doors, in Farrow and Ball “Downpipe” contrast beautifully with the flood of light coming from the kitchen extension roof lights and wide bi-folding doors.

The flow of the worktop run from the door into the kitchen leads the eye all the way to the view of the garden at the far end of the room. There is also a flow around the central island and breakfast bar as the living area, complete with log burner, leads through the dining area to the breakfast bar.

Bespoke pieces

  • The solid oak open shelves incorporate sleek under-cabinet lighting - low voltage LED strips to aid food preparation below.

  • The deep pan drawers offer a generous amount of storage and can take a huge amount of weight - these ones can take up to 30kg.

  • The matt white metro tiles match the white work surface perfectly.

  • The solid oak central feature island includes a built in bespoke oak storage until housing cups, mugs, tea and coffee whilst screening the kitchen work surface from the "living" area of the space.

  • The sink is seamlessly fused to the white solid surface worktop, creating a clean line and no visible joins.

  • The bespoke cutlery drawer insert was handmade to fit the drawer. The birch-faced play adds a nice design detail with the edging facing upwards.

  • Copious amounts of dry goods are housed in the larder, along with a microwave, tucked away out of sight. The larder also contains a power socket, allowing for other appliances to be concealed here.

  • The solid ask shaker doors are all painted with Farrow and Ball "Downpipe" creating a lovely contrast to the light-filled kitchen extension.
