You have to admire this amazing slab of recycled paper that we’re cutting for a client’s worktop.
This is Richlite, an incredibly durable material made from paper – the mottled appearance, leathery feel and warmth makes it an interesting and eco-friendly complement to traditional hard kitchen surfaces. It is non-porous, heat and water resistant as well as strong and durable.
The colour comes from a combination of the colour of the paper and the tone of the resin. Like wood, the colours develop a natural patina as they age; becoming darker, warmer and more dramatic. No dyes are added to the material, and all of the paper is either post-consumer waste recycled or sustainably harvested FSC® Certified paper.
This is just one of the many eco-friendly raw materials we offer – get in touch if you want to know more!
